Position Summary
Our Director of Marketing is responsible for Don Sebastiani & Sons strategic marketing, all channel trade programming, and all media planning and communication across the entire DSS portfolio of products. The Director of Marketing actively manages and educates a team of Brand Management and Creative professionals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Creates annual brand plan to include brand strategy, objectives, and programs for multiple product categories (wine, spirits, natural snacks and water).
- Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure strong execution of brand strategy.
- Works closely with Sales to establish all channel trade programming with thematic sales planning.
- Manages and directs Brand Manager with timely creation and upkeep of all written marketing materials, including sell sheets, PowerPoint presentations, wine fact sheets and other supporting documents.
- Leads the new brand development process by engaging Brand, Creative, and CEO.
- Works closely with key executive members on packaging design and provide direction to Creative and/or outside agencies.
- Partners with Winemaking/Production and Finance to create brand quality and taste profiles.
- Interacts daily with key sales management.
- Analyzes sales, depletions and pricing; makes recommendations on pricing strategy for all brands.
- Develops yearly PR plan and manages execution of event based activities and media relations.
- Develops DTC, digital and social media strategy and manages execution.
- Develops, tracks and manages annual Marketing Budget for all categories/brands.
- Responsible for group management and administration, including staff hiring, supervision, development, and department structure and teamwork.
- Participates in weekly Production Meetings.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required; MBA preferred
- 10+ years progressive experience in a leadership role; wine industry experience required
- Strong CPG background
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize projects under tight time constraints.
- Strong systems literacy and understanding of MS Office, especially Power Point and Excel.
- Very strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
- Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
- Travel to various geographic locations and overnight stays are required.
